LEE HWAIK Gallery, a renowned contemporary art gallery based in Seoul, is making waves at the prestigious Galleries ART Fair 2023 in Korea. The gallery is garnering attention for its impressive display of works by eight promising Korean artists, showcasing a diverse range of artistic styles and techniques.
Among the featured artists is KIM Duck-Yong, a graduate of Seoul National University who reinterprets modern painting through traditional Korean art techniques on wooden boards. KIM Hye-Gyun, a graduate of Hongik University, uses the motif of storage shelves to represent the accumulation of life and memories in her works. Meanwhile, NOH Jun, a graduate of Seoul National University, expresses her deep affinity for animals in her sculptures.
AHN Doo-Jin, a graduate of Hongik University, delves into his own hypothesis of "forehead quark" in his paintings, and LEE Jung-Eun, a graduate of Seoul National University, captures the emotional nuances of daily life in her works.
LEE HWAIK Gallery, which opened in 2001 in Insa-dong, Seoul and later moved to Songhyeon-dong, is known for promoting leading contemporary artists in Korea and supporting young talents with creativity and competence. The gallery also actively engages in international art fairs, such as ART MIAMI, ABU DHABI ART, and KIAF ART SEOUL, and facilitates opportunities for Korean artists to showcase their works in prestigious foreign auctions like CHRISTIE's and Sotheby's.
The Galleries ART Fair 2023 runs until April 16th, providing art enthusiasts and collectors alike with the chance to appreciate the diverse and captivating works on display at LEE HWAIK Gallery's booth.
