Rapper-Dancer Expands Musical Horizons with Physical Edition of "Jack In The Box (Hope Edition)"

J-Hope of the globally renowned group BTS continues to showcase his artistry with new solo projects, even as he serves in the military, as announced by the group's agency, Big Hit Music, on Monday. The agency revealed that J-Hope will unveil "Jack In The Box (Hope Edition)" on August 18, a physical reissue of his first solo album, "Jack In The Box," which was initially released digitally as a "Weverse Album" in July 2022. The upcoming album includes the original 10 songs and five new tracks, including three live recordings from J-Hope's performances at the US music festival Lollapalooza in August 2022, as well as two instrumental tracks.

This release marks J-Hope's first musical endeavor since he commenced his mandatory military service in April. According to Big Hit Music, J-Hope actively participated in the production of the reissued album, just as he did with the digital edition. The agency stated, "J-Hope poured his heart into preparing the physical album, 'Jack In The Box (Hope Edition),' ahead of his enlistment so that more fans could enjoy 'Jack In The Box' in more diverse forms." J-Hope played an integral role in the overall planning and structuring of the album, infusing it with his unique artistic sensibilities.

In addition to the new songs, the physical package of the album will feature fresh concept pictures and other accessories, providing fans with an enhanced experience. J-Hope's solo career commenced when he became the first member of BTS to release solo music following the group's announcement of a hiatus last summer, allowing the members to pursue individual endeavors. BTS took a break following the release of their ninth anniversary LP, "Proof," in June 2022.

J-Hope's original solo album, "Jack In The Box," comprised 10 songs and achieved significant success, peaking at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Its main tracks, "More" and "Arson," secured spots on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart, with positions at No. 82 and No. 96, respectively. J-Hope's solo career particularly thrived in the United States, where he headlined the major music festival Lollapalooza in August and performed on ABC TV's iconic annual New Year's show, "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve."

As J-Hope continues to showcase his talent and expand his musical horizons, his renewed solo album offers fans a fresh perspective on his artistry. Despite his military service, J-Hope's creative journey remains dynamic, reaffirming his status as a multi-talented artist and further solidifying his impact on the global music scene.
