Kukje Gallery
Kukje Gallery proudly presents a solo exhibition by renowned artist Lee Ufan from April 4 to May 28, 2023. This exhibition is Lee Ufan's second solo exhibition held at Kukje Gallery following his first showcase in 2009. It is also meaningful that this is the first major exhibition to be held in Korea in 10 years, except for the Busan Museum of Art, 'Lee Ufan Space', which opened in 2015. , as well as the garden, this exhibition consists of six sculptures and four drawings representing the artist's works from the 1980s to the present.
Lee Ufan's art embodies a profound inquiry into contemporary existence in which the domains of 'god' and 'human' give way to the ethereal specter of 'information'. His works transcend traditional notions of art by exploring the intangible and immaterial aspects of reality. Transcending the boundaries of physical and information, the artist's work plays the role of a mediator allowing the audience to meet the inner and outer world at the same time. It provides a glimpse into a new reality that transcends the limits of individual consciousness. The artist describes her work as a place where she meets herself and others, a space that suggests the emergence of a new reality by beckoning in and out.
