Duo, Former On-Screen Couple, Set to Kick Off the 28th BIFF with Prestige and Charm

In a union that promises both glamour and chemistry, renowned actors Lee Je-hoon and Park Eun-bin have been announced as the hosts for the grand opening of this year's Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), organizers revealed on Sunday. With a shared history on screen, having portrayed a married couple in the SBS series "Secret Door" (2014), the two talents are poised to grace the stage of the prestigious event.

Marking its 28th edition, the BIFF is set to commence its immersive 10-day journey on October 4 at the esteemed Busan Cinema Center.

Lee Je-hoon catapulted into the limelight through his appearances in the lauded 2011 films "Bleak Night" and "The Front Line." Over the years, he has evolved into a multifaceted artist, earning acclaim both on the silver screen and in television dramas. His notable works encompass "Architecture 101" (2012), tvN's gripping "Signal" (2016), "Collectors" (2020), and Netflix's poignant "Move to Heaven" (2021). In his latest endeavor, Lee enthralled audiences with his role in the SBS drama "Taxi Driver 2."

The equally accomplished Park Eun-bin made her debut as a child model at a tender age of four, and since then, her star has only risen. She has graced screens with her performances in an array of hit dramas, including the captivating JTBC series "Youth" (2017), as well as the engaging SBS dramas "Stove League" (2019) and "Do You like Brahms?" (2020).

However, it was her captivating roles in KBS series "The King's Affection" (2021) that garnered her international recognition, with the show securing the coveted Best Telenovela award at the 50th International Emmy Awards. Her accomplishments further flourished with her participation in the ENA series "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" (2022), earning her both the Best Content and Best Actress accolades at the esteemed fourth Asia Contents Awards.

The forthcoming BIFF holds the promise of cinematic excellence, with the Korean Cinema Today category set to feature three exceptional premieres. These films include "Believer 2," a creation by director Baek Jong-yeol; "Ballerina," crafted by director Lee Chung-hyun; and "Hopeless," helmed by director Kim Chang-hoon.

Amidst the anticipation and fervor, the 28th BIFF looks to Lee Je-hoon and Park Eun-bin to infuse the opening ceremony with their undeniable charisma and elegance, setting the stage for a celebration of global cinematic artistry.
