Jungkook, a member of the globally popular K-pop group BTS, has donated 1 billion won (approximately $758,000) to the Seoul National University Children’s Hospital to assist children and families in need, the hospital announced on Tuesday. The donation will help fund medical expenses for kids from low-income households and support the hospital’s comprehensive care center plan, according to the hospital.
“I hope my donation can be a bit of help to children in danger, and I hope children can smile happily,” Jungkook said in a press release.
The Seoul National University Children’s Hospital expressed gratitude to Jungkook for his support, stating that the hospital’s operations are difficult to sustain without donations such as his.
Jungkook, whose real name is Jun Jung-kook, made his debut as a member of BTS in 2013 and has since gained a massive fan following worldwide. He has also released several solo tracks, including "Still With You" (2020), "My You" (2022) on SoundCloud, and “Dreamers” (2022), which was included in the 2022 FIFA World Cup soundtrack.
