Actor-Filmmaker Yoo Takes on Directorial and Acting Duties in Romantic Short Film "Talk to Her"

Acclaimed actor and filmmaker Yoo is set to direct and star in the upcoming short film "Talk to Her," a poignant tale centered around the budding romance between an ambitious Korean-American filmmaker and a talented yet struggling actress.
The highly anticipated project features a talented cast, with Sean Richard, who left a lasting impression on audiences with his role in "Operation Chromite" (2016), and Cho Hae-jung, recently known for her compelling performance in the tvN series "Our Blues" (2022), assuming the co-lead roles. Additionally, esteemed actor Lee Bum-soo and Yoo himself will make brief appearances in the romantic film.
After concluding filming, the production company shared a statement, revealing that "Talk to Her" has entered the post-production stage. Audiences can eagerly anticipate the film's release in the latter half of this year.
Yoo, known for his creative prowess, has previously directed a series of successful short films, including "The Bike Boy" (2003), "How Does the Blind Dream" (2005), "Out of My Intention" (2007), and "Invitation" (2009). In 2013, he ventured into feature-length filmmaking with "Mai Ratima."
Yoo's journey in the entertainment industry began in 1997 as a fashion model, a path that eventually led him to his first acting role the following year. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with renowned film auteurs such as Heo Jin-ho ("One Fine Spring Day" 2001), Park Chan-wook ("Oldboy" 2003), and Hong Sang-soo ("Woman is The Future of Man" 2004). Additionally, Yoo will soon grace screens in the Disney+ series "Vigilante."
With "Talk to Her," Yoo once again showcases his multifaceted talent, captivating audiences with his ability to seamlessly navigate between the roles of director and actor. The film promises to be an emotional and thought-provoking exploration of love, with Yoo's artistic vision at the helm.
