Gallery Date Showcases Korean Contemporary Art and Dansaekhwa

Busan, South Korea - Gallery Date was established in 2009 with the aim of raising cultural values in the local area and Korea through professional and artistic exhibitions. Since then, it has collaborated with numerous artists to make modern art and culture an everyday reality.
The contemporary art gallery has held numerous prominent exhibitions, starting with Lee Dong-Youb, and then showcasing the work of various Korean artists, including Choi Byng-So, Hur Hwang, Nam Tchun-Mo, Jang Seung-Taik, Choi Man-Lin, Kim Ku-Lim, Shin Sung-Hy, Choi In-Su, Kim Taek-Sang, Kim Tschoon-Su, Cheon Kwang-Yub, Stephane Bordarier, Tim Bavington, and Timothee Talard. Notably, Gallery Date has promoted Korean Dansaekhwa to Korea and abroad, producing special exhibition catalogues containing critical reviews.
As a leading exhibitor of contemporary art, Gallery Date has managed ceaseless in-depth projects shedding new light on Dansaekhwa, which is now gaining international attention. Additionally, the gallery exhibits annual group exhibitions of ‘Dansaek (monochrome) style paintings’ and showcases veteran, prominent, and emerging artists of Korean contemporary art.
Gallery Date introduces its artists to various art fairs, including KIAF, Korean Galleries Art Fair, Daegu Art Fair, Art Busan, and BAMA. It continuously researches artists to meet the high standards of these art fairs and endeavors towards the development of Korean contemporary art through communicating with artists, collectors, and galleries.
The gallery has established its own character and held exhibitions of Dansaekhwa artists’ work, representing modern and contemporary Korean art. It is also researching and planning to support emerging artists' ability to expand their unique art world. Gallery Date operates various programs to continuously meet the cultural needs and is committed to introducing high standard exhibitions. These demonstrate the Korean and global art market’s flow at a glance in a new cultural space required by the Twenty-first Century.
Gallery Date is located at 2F 5 Haeundaehaebyeon-ro 298beon-gil, Haeundae-gu Busan, Korea. It is open from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 18:00 and on Saturdays from 10:00 to 15:00.
