In an immersive exhibition, Tate Britain presents "The Rossettis: Romance and Radicalism of the Pre-Raphaelite Movement," showcasing the influential careers of the Rossetti generation, including Dante Gabriel, Christina, and Elizabeth Rossetti (née Siddal). The exhibition, the first retrospective of Dante Gabriel Rossetti at Tate in two decades, unveils their world-renowned artworks that pushed boundaries and challenged artistic conventions.
Delving into the Rossettis' revolutionary approach to art, love, and lifestyles, this comprehensive show intertwines spoken poetry, drawings, paintings, photography, and design. Visitors will witness the profound impact the Rossettis had on the art world and beyond.
This exhibition at Tate will also be a momentous event for Elizabeth Siddal, as it marks the most extensive showcase of her work in the past 30 years. Rare surviving watercolours and important drawings will shed light on her artistic contributions.
Entitled "The Rossettis," the exhibition will offer a fresh perspective on the captivating myths surrounding the unconventional relationships between Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Elizabeth Siddal, Fanny Cornforth, and Jane Morris. Tate Britain has organized the exhibition in collaboration with the Delaware Art Museum, where "The Rossettis" will be on view from October 21, 2023, to January 28, 2024.
