Lisa, a member of the renowned girl group Blackpink under YG Entertainment, has earned her eighth Guinness World Record, this time for her song "Money" from her 2021 solo debut EP, "Lalisa."
As announced by Guinness World Records on Thursday, "Money" has become the first K-pop track to amass over 1 billion streams on the global music streaming platform, Spotify.
Earlier in May, Lisa had secured two world record titles for her solo EP, "Lalisa." Her EP had achieved the remarkable milestone of exceeding 1 billion streams, making her the fastest solo K-pop artist to attain this feat on Spotify. Additionally, she holds the record for the most-viewed solo artist's YouTube music video within 24 hours with the release of "Lalisa."
Lisa launched her solo career with the release of her debut album, "Lalisa," in September 2021. Currently, discussions are ongoing between the members of Blackpink and their agency regarding the potential extension of their contracts, with rumors suggesting Lisa's departure from the agency, although the agency has not officially commented on the matter.
