Yunchan Lim, the victor of the 2022 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, has signed an exclusive recording contract with Decca Classics, as confirmed by the label. Decca Classics, established in Britain in 1929, boasts a legacy of producing records in collaboration with celebrated classical artists, such as conductor Georg Solti and tenor Luciano Pavarotti.
Yunchan Lim expressed his appreciation for Decca Classics, emphasizing the label's esteemed history of collaboration with legendary musicians. His inaugural studio recording album under the Decca label is scheduled for release in the upcoming spring.
Decca Classics' director, Dominic Fyfe, and executive producer, Helen Rogers, conveyed their eagerness to embark on a new artistic journey with Lim, setting the stage for this collaboration in a press release.
Notably, Lim secured his position as the youngest champion of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in the previous year, achieving this milestone at the age of 18. He has since performed at prestigious recital halls worldwide and alongside renowned orchestras. Lim is also scheduled to hold seven concerts with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra from November 15 to December 1.
