South Korean group NewJeans has achieved a significant milestone, amassing 300 million streams on Spotify with their track "Super Shy," as reported by their agency, Ador, on Wednesday.
This marks the fifth song by the group to reach this impressive streaming benchmark on the platform, accomplishing the feat in a notably swift period of 108 days.
"Super Shy" is one of the three main tracks from the group's second EP, titled "Get Up." The song has attained noteworthy global recognition by securing the 5th and 9th positions on Spotify's daily and weekly top songs chart, respectively, establishing new records for the quintet. Notably, "Super Shy" has maintained a presence on Spotify's daily chart for over 100 consecutive days and on the weekly chart for 15 weeks in a row, as of Wednesday.
In addition, NewJeans' "Get Up" EP has made a mark on the international music scene, charting at No. 84 on the prestigious Billboard 200. This achievement extends the group's presence on the main albums chart for a remarkable 13 consecutive weeks, making it the second-longest streak for a K-pop girl group, trailing only behind Blackpink. The EP debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, further solidifying NewJeans' impact on the global music landscape.
