In an exciting development, the 2023 MAMA Awards, organized by CJ ENM, are all set to grace the iconic Tokyo Dome on November 28 and 29, making history as the first Korean award ceremony to be held at this colossal indoor stadium in Japan.
"'MAMA Awards' has graced various Asian locations, such as Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Japan," noted CJ ENM in a press release. "This year, we aim to present a live event in Japan, a nation deeply enamored with K-pop and boasting the world's second-largest music industry."
While the lineup of participating K-pop artists remains undisclosed, fans worldwide can anticipate the electrifying performances, as the award ceremony will be live-streamed across platforms like YouTube, ensuring a global audience for this spectacular event.
The theme for this year's MAMA Awards is "One I Born," symbolizing the uniqueness of 'I' and the convergence with MAMA, creating an unforgettable 'One' moment, as elucidated by CJ ENM in a press release.
Originally recognized by its acronym "Mnet Asian Music Awards," referring to the music-centric cable network Mnet under CJ ENM, the award ceremony rebranded to MAMA Awards in 2022, embracing its expansive growth and global appeal.
