Jungkook, a member of the global phenomenon BTS, is set to participate in the 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) in Paris next month, both as a nominee and performer.
The full list of performers for this year's MTV EMA ceremony was announced on the event's official website, featuring Jungkook among 10 artists, including Anne-Marie, Coi Leray, and David Guetta.
This marks Jungkook's first in-person attendance at the annual European awards show. He has already achieved a remarkable milestone by securing nominations in three categories: Best Song, Best K-pop, and Biggest Fans. This achievement represents the most significant number of nominations ever received by a Korean solo artist in the history of the MTV EMA.
Jungkook is nominated for Best Song with his solo debut track "Seven," released in July. His competition in the category includes Taylor Swift's "Anti-Hero," Olivia Rodrigo's "Vampire," and SZA's "Kill Bill."
The 2023 MTV EMA ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 5, marking the first time the event will be held in Paris.
Notably, as a member of BTS, Jungkook and the group have previously received multiple honors at the European music awards. In 2020, BTS was the year's biggest winner, securing four awards, including Best Song for their English pop hit "Dynamite." They continued their success in 2021, claiming four more wins, including Best Pop and Best Group.
Jungkook is also preparing to release his first solo album, "Golden," on November 3.
