In a much-anticipated entry onto the vibrant K-pop stage, RIIZE is poised to captivate audiences with their debut album "Get a Guitar," scheduled for release on September 4th. The seven-member ensemble marks a significant milestone for K-pop juggernaut SM Entertainment, as the first boy band to debut under the label in seven years, following the groundbreaking launch of NCT in 2016.
Comprising former NCT members Shotaro and Sungchan, along with Eunseok, Seunghan, Sohee, Wonbin, and Anton – the latter being the esteemed singer-songwriter Yoon Sang's eldest son and a former swimmer – RIIZE is set to introduce a fresh musical perspective to the K-pop scene. Underpinned by a unique blend of musical talents, the group has announced their intent to craft 'emotional pop,' a genre designed to resonate with diverse emotional experiences.
To offer a tantalizing glimpse into their musical journey, RIIZE unveiled "Memories," one of the two tracks from their impending album, on August 21st. The single's debut set an impressive precedent, catapulting to the top of iTunes' song chart in eight countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, and Peru. This early success foreshadows the group's potential to make a significant impact with their upcoming release, "Get a Guitar."
SM Entertainment has diligently laid the groundwork for RIIZE's debut, propelling the group into the limelight even before their official unveiling. Collaborating with Kakao Entertainment, a subsidiary of tech giant Kakao, SM published an online novel titled "Rise & Realize," offering an artistic exploration of RIIZE's growth and evolution. In conjunction with the novel, the entertainment powerhouse is slated to host a captivating photo exhibition.
This visual exhibition, aptly titled "Rise & Realize," is set to grace the D Museum in Seoul's Seongsu District from August 26th to September 10th. Through an array of images capturing the members' preparations and journey to debut, the exhibition aims to provide a multifaceted perspective on RIIZE's artistic and personal evolution.
"'Rise & Realize' is a novel portraying RIIZE's growth," explained SM Entertainment in a statement. "Its photo exhibition will take place from Aug. 26 to Sept. 10 at D Museum in Seongsu District, Seoul. It will display the pictures showing how the members have been preparing for their debut."
As RIIZE readies to mark its arrival on the K-pop stage, the anticipation and curiosity surrounding the group's unique blend of talents and emotional resonance continue to grow. With "Get a Guitar" on the horizon and an array of innovative promotional activities, the spotlight is undoubtedly fixed on the septet as they prepare to carve their own distinctive path in the K-pop landscape.
