BTS' JungKooK ranked proudly in Rolling Stone's 200 greatest singers of all time

K-pop leader Jungkook of BTS and popular Korean solo singer IU found themselves on "the 200 greatest singers of all time" chosen by Rolling Stone, a U.S. magazine featuring articles on music, politics and popular culture.
Rolling Stone attracted the attention of the world music world by releasing its lineup of "The 200 Greatest Singers of All Time," which includes IU and Jungkook as Korean singers on the first day of 2023.
"The 200 Greatest Singers of All Time" is a collection of opinions from Rolling Stone staff and contributors, and is a selection of singers who have worked in the pop music industry for the past 100 years.
Jungkook, the main vocalist and lead dancer of the world-renowned K-pop group BTS, proudly ranked 191st in "The 200 Greatest Singers of All Time."
Jungkook is popular among BTS fans for his emotional vocals based on soft tones. He has demonstrated his average composition skills and established himself as a singer-song writer.
Rolling Stone said, "Jungkook is the youngest and strong performer of BTS with various talents. He wrote several songs, and despite the success he experienced when he was young, he is very diligent and humble."
Jungkook sang the tournament's soundtrack Dreamers at the opening ceremony of the Qatar FIFA World Cup on Nov. 20 last year, showing his influence and popularity in the world music world.
IU, who is one of the most popular female solo singers in the K-pop world along with Jungkook, is also in the 135th place in the "The 200 Greatest Singers of All Time"
IU has been the most popular idol star for more than 10 years since her debut as an artist based on her charming tone, excellent songwriting and composition skills. She is an all-around entertainer who is recognized for her talent in various fields such as singing, acting, and modeling.
On the "The 200 Greatest Singers of All Time" list, IU was excited to reach 135th place, beating pop star Christina Aguilera (141st) and country music legend Mar Haggard (138th).
Rolling Stone said, "IU is one of the most popular singers in Korean music since the hit song 'Good Day' in 2010. She has a wide range of range and powerful communication skills, and a versatile ability to easily move from chamber pop and jazz to ballads in the 90's in Bosanova."
In this "The 200 Greatest Singers of All Time," the world's first female singer to enter the U.S. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. U.S. pop queen Whitney Houston came in second and U.S. representative Seoul singer Sam Cook came in third.
