Former Loona member Chuu has embarked on her solo career, releasing her debut solo album titled "Howl," which features five songs, including the title track "Howl."
In a media showcase held in Seoul ahead of the album's release, Chuu described "Howl" as a departure from her previous bright, cheerful, and lovely image. The song reflects moments of hurt and seeks to bring courage and hope, providing a sense of comfort for listeners.
The 23-year-old singer initially debuted as part of Loona in 2017 and engaged in various activities across music, television variety shows, advertising, and modeling. However, she had a legal dispute with her former agency, BlockBerry Creative, over financial settlement issues. Chuu filed a lawsuit to suspend her exclusive contract with the agency, which she won. Consequently, she had to leave the 12-member group after the agency removed her, alleging verbal abuse against staff.
When asked about her emotions regarding the conflict, Chuu expressed disappointment, upset feelings, and apologized to her fans, emphasizing her assertion of innocence. Since April 2023, Chuu found a new agency, ATRP, and continued her activities in television variety shows and advertising.
Chuu hopes to showcase her vocal strength and versatility, offering both her bright and cheerful side and her more serious and mature aspects as a singer. She seeks to leave a lasting impression with her unique voice and aims to be remembered as a singer with a comfortable, captivating voice.
Chuu, who was one of 12 Loona members, expressed the desire for the group to reunite at some point. She mentioned that during recent discussions with the members, they agreed to keep the possibility of a 12-member stage performance open for the future, with the hope of reuniting to delight their fans.
