In a remarkable milestone, the sensational K-pop boy band, Stray Kids, is poised to grace the stage of Seoul's illustrious Gocheok Sky Dome, a venue that has hosted some of the biggest names in the music industry.
On Thursday, JYP Entertainment, the agency representing Stray Kids, made a monumental announcement, revealing that the band will command the Gocheok Sky Dome for a spectacular two-day concert on October 21 and 22, 2023.
This achievement marks Stray Kids' debut performance at the Gocheok Sky Dome, a coveted stage where countless renowned artists, both from Korea and around the world, have left their mark. Fans have eagerly awaited this moment, and it comes as the culmination of five years of dedicated effort and unwavering support.
Titled "Stray Kids 5-Star Dome Tour 2023 Seoul Special: Unveil 13," this concert is an integral part of the group's ongoing "5-Star Dome Tour," which commenced in Japan and has been thrilling fans across the nation's four major dome stadiums: Fukuoka PayPay Dome, Vantelin Dome Nagoya, Kyocera Dome Osaka, and the iconic Tokyo Dome.
Stray Kids' ascent to global stardom has been nothing short of meteoric, with the eight-member group currently reigning as one of the world's most popular K-pop acts. Their groundbreaking single, "S-Class," earned them a historic victory at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, where they clinched the title of "Best K-pop" artist, marking their maiden win at this prestigious annual US music event.
Notably, Stray Kids' popularity has surged, particularly in the United States, with their latest album, "5-Star," led by the chart-topping "S-Class," ranking as the fourth-best selling album in the country. Their overall album sales secured them the second position, trailing only behind global superstar Taylor Swift.
Adding to their international triumphs, Stray Kids is set to perform in New York at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival on September 23, marking their presence as the event's sole Asian musicians.
Their first-ever dome tour in Japan, launched in August, initially encompassed eight concerts in four cities. With the latest announcement, Stray Kids has expanded their tour to include two additional dates in Seoul, solidifying their commitment to bringing their music closer to their dedicated fans.
Following the Seoul concerts, Stray Kids will culminate their extraordinary concert series with a grand finale at the Tokyo Dome on October 28 and 29, promising an unforgettable musical journey for fans around the world.
