ILLIT’s debut single “Magnetic” has surpassed 900 million streams on Spotify.

According to Spotify data released on Oct. 20, the song had accumulated 900,351,494 streams as of Oct. 18. It reached the milestone approximately two years and seven months after its release in March 2024, marking the fastest 900 million streams achieved by a K-pop group’s debut song.

“Magnetic” is the title track from ILLIT’s debut mini album SUPER REAL ME. The dance track combines pluggnB and house elements, with lyrics comparing attraction toward another person to the pull of a magnet.

Its choreography, particularly movements using the fingers and hands, spread widely through dance challenges on social media and contributed to the song’s international visibility.

Following its release, “Magnetic” became the first debut song by a K-pop group to enter both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart.

The song has continued to receive overseas certifications more than two years after its release. It earned a Silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry on Oct. 2.

In August, the Recording Industry Association of Japan awarded “Magnetic” a Triple Platinum streaming certification after the song surpassed 300 million streams in the country.

ILLIT will release its fifth mini album BREAK EVEN on Oct. 26.

The group performed its forthcoming title track, “체포하겠어,” for the first time during encore concerts held at Inspire Arena in Incheon on Oct. 17 and 18. The electro-pop song incorporates a whistle sound, which is also used as part of its choreography.
