Suzanne Song, a Korean-American artist, holds a solo exhibition 'Near Distance(근거리)' from Mar. 6 to Apr. 13 at Gallery Baton in Hannam-dong, Seoul.
Song has developed paintings and installations using lines and understated colors to reproduce the space, which is an immaterial being and an ideological object.
In the exhibition, the artist goes beyond the existing work implied by 'the pictorial representation of the experienced space' and unfolds the subtle interaction between perspectives and the familiarity and familiarity it gives in a strict screen composition.
The artist presents works that contain the development of information and communication, the loss of a sense of distance caused by a mixture of reality and virtuality, the relationship observed in the break with modern lifestyles, and the cycle in our lives and the message that encourages us to embrace it.
