Media Reports Detail Circumstances Surrounding Lee's Hospitalization

Lee Areum, a former member of K-pop girl group T-ara, is currently receiving treatment at a hospital following a possible suicide attempt on Wednesday.

According to Korean media outlet OSEN, Lee's boyfriend has shared that she is currently unconscious, expressing hope for her recovery.

Reports indicate that Lee left a note on Wednesday morning before the incident, as confirmed by her family. 

▲ Courtesy of Lee's InstagramLee, aged 29, revealed in December that she was going through a divorce, four years after marrying a businessman in 2019. She had announced plans to remarry upon the finalization of the divorce, introducing her new boyfriend.

The divorce proceedings attracted attention, particularly when Lee alleged that her husband had molested their two sons. She accused him of abuse, including spitting on and harassing their children with bodily waste.

In recent social media posts on Instagram, Lee shared photos allegedly depicting injuries sustained from assault by her husband in 2021. She also mentioned suffering from online bullying, fraud, and hacking.

Lee Areum joined T-ara in 2012 and debuted with the group's 6th mini album, "DAY BY DAY." After leaving T-ara, she pursued a solo career and appeared in various television programs, including KBS2's "The Unit" in 2017 and TV Chosun's "Tomorrow's National Singer" in 2021.
