SEOUL, South Korea — K-pop quartet NewJeans has set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest K-pop act to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify. The group achieved the milestone on Monday, only 219 days after making its debut in July 2022, according to the group's agency, ADOR.

This achievement surpasses the previous record held by Jungkook, a vocalist of K-pop supergroup BTS, who took 409 days to secure 1 billion streams on the global music streaming service with three songs. However, Jungkook still holds the title as the fastest K-pop soloist to reach the milestone.
