Kim Jin-eon's Solo Exhibition, 'Secret Garden, Unknown Island'

Artist Kim Jin-eon(SINN)'s solo exhibition, 'Secret Garden, Unknown Island' was held at Keumsan Gallery, Seoul.
The exhibition designed by the SINN's experience when he visited to a small unknown island at Mediterranean in 2008, is a crossover project exhibition with visual arts and live music performances. It consists of works in the form of fairy tales that reimagine the experiences, emotions, and imaginations at the island.
At that time, the artist lived in a small house on an island where even the Internet was not working well. So he could fully experienced the nature separated from urban life. Even after trip, SINN often stayed on the island and relized the color of his ego in nature full of vitality.
The exhibition is centered on mysterious island in the virtual world. On the island, which has garden, houses, and trees called 'NEUTROLIVO', it is possible to move between dimensions, and the story of travel and exchanges to other dimensions unfolds.
The artworks which are scratched from the aluminum and colored in Indian ink, remind audience of a new concept of stained glass allow you to explore the mysterious and dreamy unknown Mediterranean island.
SINN said, "The shape that is scratched on the surface and reflected and distorted by the difference in angle and depth has a similar with the life of people in modern society and also the giant building forests." and, "I foccused to capture our stories in the artworks."
After graduating from Hongik University's school of Art in 1999, SINN completed a bachelor's and master's degree in the Udk Berlin(Universitet der kuenste Berlin) in Germany. He currently continues his works in Germany and has won the grand prize at the art exhibition 'NordArt' in Germany.
Meanwhile, at 5 p.m. on the 10th, a live performance by 'BJÖRN MATTHIESSEN' who was in charge of music work in the exhibition. In this erformance, four artists played percussion instruments such as marimba and xylophone to express the atmosphere of the Mediterranean island.
The exhibition will be held until the 30th at Keumsan Gallery located in Jung-gu, Seoul, and admission is free.
