Geun-hwa Lee is a Korean contemporary artist who creates paper-based works on the theme of the sea and life in the sea.
The artist fell into the mystery of the sea and the appearance of a group of fish seen in a vieo. Afterwards, she began to think about her own creative methods to express the harmonious and miraculous image of the sea and the enegy of life.
After coloring the paper with acrylic, she cuts the paper and releases it by hand after the paint is dried, creating swimmimg figure of a group of fish.
As for the reason for using paper in the creative process, she said, "Paper doesn't change no matter how long it lasts, and Steel doesn't color well, but the paper does".
She tells that she is always happy when shee is in the studio, even though she sometimes devotes herself to work for up to 16 hours a day.
Meanwhile, two of her works are sold through Art Miami Fairs, one of the world's larges art fairs, drawing attention from art lovers around the world.
