From November 8 to 14, Taste of Seoul invites locals and visitors alike to explore the diverse flavors of Korean cuisine across the city. This year's festival, organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, carries the theme “A Week-Long Culinary Journey through Seoul.” It offers a blend of traditional and modern culinary experiences unique to the capital.

Kicking off the festivities on November 8, chef and culinary expert Hong Shin-ae will lead a kimchi-making class at Kyungdong Market’s Youth Mall. This program, designed especially for international participants, will also feature Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon as he joins in introducing Seoul’s food culture to global visitors.

On November 9 and 10, Nodeul Island will host the “Seoul Food Market,” where over 100 vendors will showcase Seoul’s distinct culinary offerings. The event includes hands-on workshops where guests can learn about regional specialties, giving participants an immersive journey through Korean flavors from various regions.

A highlight of the event, the Taste of Seoul Awards on November 10 at Nodeul Island’s Live House, will celebrate the city’s top chefs and significant contributors to Seoul’s food industry. This awards ceremony is part of “Seoul’s 100 Best Restaurants” initiative, a curated guide that shares Seoul’s culinary gems with a global audience. Chefs selected in various categories, as well as individuals recognized for their impact on Seoul’s food culture, will be honored.

Other unique experiences include “The Extraordinary Invitation,” where participants tour traditional markets to shop for ingredients and cook together, and “A Unique Tasting Experience,” where culinary experts lead tastings in Seoul’s notable food districts like Seongsu and Seochon.

Throughout the week, more than 120 selected venues, including restaurants in the “Seoul’s 100 Best Restaurants” list, major department stores (Lotte, The Hyundai, and Shinsegae), and Kyungdong Market’s Youth Mall, will offer special menus and exclusive discounts to visitors, making Seoul’s rich food culture even more accessible.
