Since its foundation in 2001 in Hwa-dong, PKM Gallery has established itself as one of the leading contemporary art galleries in the world, representing prominent Korean and international artists through its creative programs in the context of global contemporary art. Bringing together a balanced group of artists at various stages of their development and recognition –from young and emerging to mid-career and established –the gallery constantly endeavors to achieve a dialogue around a set of ideas and questions that recur in the works of these artists.
PKM Trinity Gallery, located in Cheongdam-dong, the cultural hub of Seoul, opened in 2008 as the second venue of PKM Gallery which has its focus on representing world-renowned artists in its impeccable exhibition space measuring more than 6,000 square feet. Collaborating closely with curators, art critics and collectors from foremost museums and galleries, it has also successfully promoted promising Korean artist abroad in solo and group exhibitions in prestigious biennials as well as major museums and galleries around the world.
Celebrating its 14th anniversary this year, PKM Gallery opened a new space in the historically rich cultural quarters of Samcheong-dong, where the traditional and the modern coexist in beautiful harmony. The new space, comprised of two ground-levels and two underground floors, occupies a lot area of 576.5 m2 and a total floor area of 721.54 m2, bringing the total exhibit space to approximately 250 m2 with a remarkably high ceiling of 5.5 m2. PKM Gallery plans to lead the paradigm in contemporary art with more expansive and experimental exhibitions in the future.
