A solo exhibition of Won-bae Oh, the artist of the year selected by Incheon City in 2023, will be held in Incheon City.
Oh is a Korean artist who has continued consistent creative activities under the theme of 'Human existence'. Using the human body as the subject, he paints various bodies that change in response to the trends of the times, such as dark social backgrounds and human violence.
"Art is a living creature", he said, drawing works based on his art philosophy that "Art must constantly change as it collides with reality."
The title of Oh's work is always 'Untitled'. The reason is that the process of recording numerous beings and relationships in reality as artistic thinking can never be organized into a single word or sentence.
In the exhibition, the artist utilizes installation art and large works using the entire exhibition space. Through the exhibition, he expresses the continued confusion despite human and material progress, whose dignity is threatened by the advent of robots and artificial intelligence.
In the exhibition, the audience can see the drawings that he has drawn about his imagination and thoughts so far. The artist's unique rough and strong expressive power and sensuous and geometric composition will leave a great impression on the audience.
