TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) have shared excerpts from all six tracks on their upcoming ninth EP, PERFECT STORM.
The group released an album preview through the HYBE Labels YouTube channel on Nov. 5. The record focuses on young people confronting the pressures, uncertainty and emotional confusion of adulthood after moving beyond adolescence.
The title track, “Angel Bite,” combines retro, game-like sounds with a rough-edged melody. Built around the discoplug genre, the song describes a desire to remain beside another person despite the instability and limitations of reality.
Opening track “Storm is...” uses restrained drums, atmospheric synthesizers and an experimental avant-pop arrangement. Its lyrics follow a narrator who chooses to enter a storm in an attempt to escape a restrictive reality.
“Higher Love” is a dance-punk track driven by guitar riffs and electronic production. The song portrays attraction as a contradictory force that creates emotional turmoil while encouraging the narrator to move forward.
The EP also includes two unit tracks. Yeonjun, Taehyun and Huening Kai perform “Sweetest Escape,” which pairs vintage analog synthesizers with an R&B-influenced pop melody and presents temporary escape as a form of comfort.
Soobin and Beomgyu perform “Touch the Sky,” a minimal techno track featuring atmospheric pads, restrained percussion and subdued vocals. Both members participated in writing the lyrics, which address ambition and the desire to reach a higher position.
The final track, “Hate It or Love It,” combines synthesizer textures with a groove-led drum pattern in an alternative pop arrangement. Beomgyu, Taehyun and Huening Kai co-wrote the lyrics about leaving familiar circumstances behind to pursue change.
PERFECT STORM will be released through streaming platforms at 6 p.m. on Nov. 16.
