Retrospective Exhibition at House of Refuge to Showcase Critically Acclaimed Animation Works "Opera" and "Origin"

A large-scale media art exhibition titled "O: an Erick Oh Retrospective" will be held at the House of Refuge in Aewol-eup, Jeju Island, starting April 25, as announced by Oh's agency, Beasts And Natives Alike.

The exhibition will feature multimedia artworks showcasing animation works by Oh, including his critically acclaimed films "Opera" and "Origin."

"Opera," a nine-minute animated film, portrays a continuous spectacle where characters engage in repetitive tasks, symbolizing themes of human behavior, power dynamics, and social hierarchies. The film received the Minister’s Award at the 2020 Korea Contents Awards and was nominated for Best Animated Short Film at the Academy Awards in 2021.

Prior to his work on independent projects, Oh worked as an animator at Pixar Animation Studios from 2010 to 2016, contributing to films such as "Finding Dory" and "Inside Out." In 2017, he joined Tonko House, where he directed the acclaimed animated TV series "Pig: The Dam Keeper Poems," which received the Cristal Award for best TV production at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in 2018.
