Artist Seulgi Lee, known for her unique fusion of traditional Korean techniques and contemporary aesthetics, has been selected as the recipient of the 6th Park Dongjun Arts Prize in the visual arts category.
The Park Dongjun Prize was established to honor the artistic legacy of the late Park Dongjun, a fashion designer and director of Gallery Bundo.
Since 2020, the Park Dongjun Memorial Foundation has presented this annual prize to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in the fields of fashion and visual arts.
Seulgi Lee has introduced Korean traditional culture to a global audience through her distinctive artistic lens, working across cities such as Paris and London.
She has received international acclaim for her Korean silk works created in collaboration with nubi (quilted textile) artisans from Tongyeong.
This award recognizes her significant role in expanding the scope of contemporary art by transcending cultural and geographic boundaries.
