Anime X Game Festival 2024 (AGF 2024), the largest subculture event in South Korea, is set to return this December with its biggest edition yet, according to the AGF Organizing Committee. The committee announced today on the event’s official website and Twitter that the exhibition space has been expanded to include Hall 1 of KINTEX Exhibition Center 1, further broadening the festival's reach.
AGF, jointly hosted by AniPlus, Daewon Media, Sony Music, and DNC Media, has grown steadily since its inception in 2018, cementing its position as a premier event for anime and gaming enthusiasts. Despite the temporary halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival made a strong comeback in 2022 at KINTEX with halls 7 and 8 of Exhibition Center 2. In 2023, the event utilized halls 3 to 5 of Exhibition Center 1, accommodating a record-breaking attendance of over 60,000 visitors, marking the highest turnout in the festival’s history. However, the large crowds and limited rest areas drew some criticism, prompting organizers to look for solutions to improve the overall visitor experience.
In response to these challenges, the AGF Organizing Committee announced plans in June to expand the festival area by incorporating halls 2 to 5 of KINTEX Exhibition Center 1, and now Hall 1 has been added as well. This expansion is expected to provide a more spacious and comfortable environment for attendees while enhancing the overall event experience with diverse content and activities.
AGF 2024 promises a variety of attractions, including exhibition zones, promotional activities, limited-edition merchandise sales, and a collaboration café. There will also be interactive zones featuring mini-stages and experience events, as well as talk shows and stage events with voice actors and creators. The event has already secured its main sponsor, Kuro Games, the developer of the popular game "Wuthering Waves," announced on October 4, signaling a strong lineup for this year's festival.
The committee emphasized their commitment to safety and visitor comfort, stating, "With more space available, we are dedicated to ensuring that all attendees have a safe and enjoyable experience. We are pulling out all the stops to create an event that will leave everyone with unforgettable memories, so we look forward to your support and enthusiasm."
AGF 2024 will take place on December 7 and 8 at KINTEX Exhibition Center 1. Organizers are currently accepting applications for participants and exhibitors until October 31. More details about participation and the event program can be found on the official website.
