Four EXO Members Sign Solo Contracts, Remaining Group to Continue Under SM Entertainment

This development follows a legal dispute between EXO-CBX and SM a few months ago over exclusive contracts. Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin sought contract termination on June 1, citing financial transparency issues. However, a mutual settlement was reached, maintaining their contractual ties.
Member D.O. has transitioned to a new talent agency, Company Soo Soo, after concluding his contract with SM in October. He, along with a former SM manager, established the agency. D.O., focused on his acting career, is the sole EXO member who has not extended his contract with SM.
Despite these changes, SM announced that all eight EXO members will persist with group activities, releasing new music and hosting a fan event in April. Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin have the freedom to engage in individual activities as per existing contracts, while discussions are ongoing for D.O.'s continued participation in EXO's activities.
EXO, which debuted in 2012 and gained widespread acclaim with hits like "Growl," released its seventh full-length album, "EXIST," in July 2023, marking the seventh million-seller album for the group.

In recent developments, K-pop sensation EXO has seen four of its members – Baekhyun, Chen, Xiumin, and D.O. – sign solo contracts with various agencies while maintaining their commitment to group activities under SM Entertainment.
Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin are set to embark on solo careers under the newly established independent label, INB100, founded by Baekhyun. The label will also represent EXO-CBX, a sub-unit comprising these three members, aiming to explore their distinctive musical styles and engage with followers in experimental ways. The singers plan to participate in music production as well.
