Stray Kids, a Global Phenomenon, Continues to Make History in the World of K-Pop

Renowned K-pop boy group Stray Kids received the Prime Minister's commendation at the 2023 Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards. This prestigious award recognizes individuals and groups from various creative fields, including music, acting, comedy, and directing, for their contributions to the local pop culture and art scene.

The group expressed their gratitude for the honor but was unable to attend the ceremony due to a concert held in Seoul on the same day. In a press release, Stray Kids thanked both their local and international fans for their unwavering support and expressed their desire for people to find joy and inspiration in their music and performances.

Stray Kids has had a remarkable year, solidifying their status as a global K-pop sensation. Their second world tour, "Maniac," achieved a significant milestone by selling out tickets for a show at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, making them the second K-pop boy band in history to hold a standalone concert at this venue.

In June, Stray Kids released their third LP, "5-Star," which set a new record in K-pop history by selling over 4.6 million copies within just one week of its release, marking the highest number to date. The album also claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart for the third time.

In July, the group made history by headlining Lollapalooza Paris, becoming the first K-pop artist to do so. In September, Stray Kids clinched the "Best K-pop" award at the 2023 MTV Music Awards.

Currently, the group is engaged in the "5-Star Dome Tour 2023," which includes stops in various cities in Korea and Japan, totaling 10 shows. The tour is set to conclude at the Tokyo Dome this weekend.

In anticipation of their fans, Stray Kids is scheduled to release a new mini album titled "Rock-Star" on November 10, promising more musical excitement in the near future.
