Pledis Entertainment announced on Tuesday that Seventeen's latest album, "Seventeenth Heaven," and its title track, "God of Music," have garnered remarkable achievements on global music charts since their release at 6 p.m. on Monday.
Notably, "God of Music" secured the number one position on Melon's Top 100 chart, making Seventeen the first boy band to achieve this feat in 2023, according to Pledis Entertainment.
Internationally, "God of Music" made a strong debut, topping the iTunes top songs chart in 29 countries on its first day. In Japan, "Seventeenth Heaven" quickly ascended to the top spot on both the iTunes top albums chart and K-pop albums chart. It also dominated Line Music's albums chart, which is one of the largest music platforms in Japan.
"Seventeenth Heaven," the 11th EP by Seventeen, shattered K-pop sales records, selling 3.28 million copies on its first day, marking the second-highest first-day sales in Korean music history. The band's previous album, "FML," held the all-time high first-day sales record of 3.99 million units, earning the title of the first K-pop album to achieve triple million-seller status on its release day.
In pre-order sales, "Seventeenth Heaven" exceeded the performance of "FML," boasting the highest figure to date in K-pop at 5.2 million units.
Debuting in 2015 under Pledis Entertainment, Seventeen has enjoyed a momentous year with the immense success of "FML" and their largest concert series, "Follow," held across Asia.
