The G-STAR 2024, marking its 20th anniversary, will be held on an unprecedented scale, according to the G-STAR Organizing Committee, led by Chairman Kang Shin-cheol.
The upcoming event will include established segments such as BTC and BTB exhibitions, as well as new additions like the expanded G-CON and the newly launched Indie Showcase 2.0: Galaxy, aimed at delivering fresh experiences and excitement.
As of September 6, 2024, participant registration has reached a record 3,281 booths, representing approximately 101% of the previous year’s figures at the same point, indicating a significant increase. The early adoption of on-site registration last year proved successful, with the large booth area fully booked within 20 minutes of opening.
Kang Shin-cheol emphasized that this year’s event is a pivotal moment, reflecting on the past 20 years of G-STAR and setting the stage for future developments and innovations.
To commemorate its 20th anniversary, G-STAR 2024 will host various special events designed for gamers to celebrate and reminisce. These will include interactive exhibitions and participatory events that highlight the festival’s history and future vision. Details of these events will be announced on the official G-STAR website soon.
Nexon, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, has been named the main sponsor for G-STAR 2024. The company will set up a 300-booth exhibit at BTC and a 30-booth space at BTB, showcasing new releases and conducting numerous business meetings. Nexon will also host two sessions at G-CON 2024, with keynote speeches by NeoPL’s Yun Myung-jin and Nexon Games’ Kim Yong-ha.
G-CON 2024, a key event within G-STAR, will take place at BEXCO Convention Hall from November 14 to 15, featuring three tracks and 42 sessions. This year’s lineup includes industry legends such as Koei Tecmo’s Shibusawa Ko and Square Enix’s Yoshinori Kitase, promising a high-caliber program.
The Indie Showcase 2.0: Galaxy, a major highlight of G-STAR 2024, will be significantly expanded this year. In partnership with Steam, the showcase will present a variety of innovative indie games, with a dedicated Steam Deck experience zone allowing attendees to try out high-spec games and indie titles.
Inven, a prominent gaming media outlet, will participate in G-STAR 2024 with a booth at the BTC Hall. Last year, Inven hosted numerous events and interactive zones, and detailed plans for this year’s participation will be announced later.
The official G-STAR app will be relaunched with enhanced features, including ticket purchasing and scheduling tools for a more convenient attendee experience. The updated app will be available from late September on major app stores.
Ticketing for general admission will be conducted exclusively through pre-sale starting October 15, aiming to streamline visitor management and ensure a comfortable event environment. Safety measures will be strengthened, with increased security and coordination with local authorities.
On-site registration for G-STAR 2025 will be available from November 15 to 16 at BEXCO, continuing the successful policy from last year and offering high discounts for exhibitors. Detailed information will be provided on the official website in October.
