The partnership deal, initially agreed upon in August of the previous year, had encountered delays, as a senior official from the Diamondbacks was originally slated to visit Seoul for the official signing ceremony on September 8, 2023. However, the event did not take place as scheduled due to conflicting commitments. The signing ceremony finally occurred this week with the meeting between Ko and Hall.
Throughout the partnership negotiations, both teams had already initiated exchange programs. In August of the preceding year, employees from the Diamondbacks' research and development department joined Heroes scouts to observe KBO regular season games. Subsequently, in January of the current year, select members of the Heroes' coaching staff participated in the Diamondbacks' training camp.
Expressing gratitude for the collaborative initiative, Ko stated, "We'd like to thank the Diamondbacks for this great opportunity. I hope this partnership will help lay the foundation for success for both clubs."
