A striking mural depicting the iconic Pic du Midi d'Ossau mountain peak now graces the facade of a house in Herrère, a small village in the French Pyrenees. The artwork, created by artist Jano Majic from Oloron, has become an unmissable sight for motorists traveling along the RN 134 highway.
Philippe and Natacha Vedere, who own the house located just steps away from the Arribe cheese factory in Herrère, commissioned the artist to beautify one of their building's facades. The couple sought to enhance their property with an artistic touch that would celebrate the natural beauty of their surroundings.
Jano Majic, the talented artist from the nearby town of Oloron, completed the impressive fresco in just three days. The mural captures the majestic silhouette of Pic du Midi d'Ossau, one of the most recognizable mountain peaks in the Pyrenees region, known for its distinctive pyramid shape that dominates the landscape.
The artwork's strategic location ensures maximum visibility for travelers on the busy RN 134 route, transforming what was once an ordinary house wall into a landmark that celebrates the region's stunning mountain scenery. The mural serves as both an artistic achievement and a tribute to the natural heritage of the Pyrenees-Atlantiques department.
