SEOUL — Korean rock band Dragon Pony has been selected as Billboard’s K-Pop Rookie of the Month for May 2025, earning recognition for their musical talent and growing global appeal.
Billboard announced the news on May 15 (local time) in an article titled "Dragon Pony Is Billboard’s K-Pop Rookie of the Month for May", spotlighting the band’s creative depth and momentum in the K-band scene.
Composed of Ahn Tae-kyu, Pyeon Seong-hyeon, Kwon Se-hyeok, and Ko Gang-hoon, Dragon Pony is known for their energetic sound rooted in rock and their hands-on approach to songwriting, composition, and production. Looking ahead, Dragon Pony shared ambitious goals, including a world tour and performances at global events such as Glastonbury, Coachella, and even the Super Bowl halftime show.
Dragon Pony is scheduled to hold their solo concert Dragon Pony 1st Concert ‘Not Out’ in Taipei on May 23 and 24. They are also set to perform at major domestic festivals including Beautiful Mint Life 2025 on June 14 and the 2025 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival on August 1, solidifying their status as one of the most promising newcomers in Korea’s rock scene.
