Lee Doo-Won, an artist who has been exhibiting with Gallery MAC for a decade, has signed an exclusive contract with the British non-profit art foundation PCA (Parallel Contemporary Art) for his overseas activities. This marks an exciting milestone for Lee, who has previously participated in major art fairs and solo exhibitions.
intuitive Creativity and Cosmic Views
Lee, born in 1982, has a unique approach to art. Unlike many artists who receive formal education at university, Lee traveled extensively around the world, creating his works based on the materials, feelings, experiences, and inspiration from nature that he encountered along the way. His paintings depict a cosmic view that connects nature, animals, and humans as one.
New Works on Display
Lee's latest works are an extension of his collaborative work series with Pakistani truck artists, which were exhibited at the Galleries Art Fair 2023 and sold out. Visitors to the 2023 Art Busan exhibition can see seven of Lee's finished pieces, made with natural materials from Pakistan, Nepal, and India, at the Gallery MAC booth.
Future International Exhibitions
Lee's exclusive contract with PCA paves the way for her to participate in several international exhibitions, including a solo exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in London in October 2023 and a special exhibition at Khaus during Art Basel in Switzerland in 2024.
Excitement and Support from Gallery MAC
Lee's relationship with MAC began when he made his debut there in 2013 through the 4th MAC Art Award. Since then, He has been a fixture at major art fairs such as Kiaf SEOUL and Art Busan. The curator of Gallery MAC expressed excitement about Lee's future exhibitions and encouraged art enthusiasts to look forward to his works.
The 2023 Art Busan exhibition will take place at BEXCO in Busan from May 4th to 7th, and will be the first event for Lee after signing his exclusive contract with PCA. With his unique perspective and approach to art, Lee is sure to make a splash on the world stage.
