CJ ENM, South Korea's premier entertainment company, announced on Thursday that it has entered into a comprehensive multiyear partnership agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD). This strategic collaboration aims to jointly produce and distribute Korean content to audiences worldwide, marking a significant expansion of Korean entertainment's global footprint.

Under the terms of this partnership deal, Korean dramas and original programming from CJ ENM and its popular streaming platform Tving will receive exclusive premieres on Warner Bros. Discovery's HBO Max streaming service. The content will be made available to viewers across 17 countries throughout the Asia Pacific region, significantly broadening the reach of Korean entertainment.

As a key component of this collaboration, the two companies plan to establish a dedicated Tving-branded content hub within the HBO Max platform. This specialized section is scheduled to launch early next year, providing a centralized location for Korean content on the streaming service. In preparation for the official hub launch, several Korean programs will begin rolling out to international audiences starting in November.

The partnership extends beyond content distribution to include original content creation. Both companies will work together to jointly produce original Korean television series specifically designed for worldwide distribution through HBO Max. This collaborative production approach represents a new model for bringing Korean storytelling to global markets.

Miky Lee, Vice Chairwoman of CJ Group, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership's potential impact. She stated that the collaboration is expected to advance CJ ENM's core mission "to connect people through the power of storytelling" by effectively combining "Warner Bros. Discovery's storytelling legacy with CJ's unique voice." Her comments highlight the complementary strengths both companies bring to this venture.

David Zaslav, President and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, shared similar sentiments about the partnership's significance. He described the collaboration as "a cornerstone of our commitment to great locally relevant stories in key markets around the world," emphasizing WBD's strategic focus on delivering region-specific content that resonates with diverse global audiences.
