From September 28 to October 23, the 10 grand prize candidate projects are on display at D-Forest, located on the first floor of DDP Design Lab. Concurrently, citizens have the opportunity to vote and select the Citizen Award recipient. The exhibition utilizes materials made from recycled and upcycled sources, aligning with the sustainable theme of Seoul Design Award 2023. Scrap wood generated during wood processing is repurposed for exhibition materials, and plastic plates made from processed plastic pieces are entirely reusable.
To encourage citizen participation, a Citizen Award will be granted to the project with the most votes, with one winner selected by voters in Korea and another chosen by global voters. Each winner will receive a prize of 5,000,000 KRW. The winning projects will be showcased to the public at an exhibition of the winning works, to be held at the DDP Dullegil Gallery in the first half of 2024, following the awards ceremony in October this year. The Seoul Design Award emphasizes sustainable design, aiming to foster harmonious relationships between people, society, and the environment by recognizing innovative projects that creatively address everyday challenges.
