Jazz pianist and vocalist Maria Kim is set to release her seventh full-length album, "Misty Blue," on Friday, her agency PlusHitch announced Thursday.
The album includes 1960s-inspired hard bop jazz songs, featuring the prereleased singles "Tight" and "Peel Me a Grape." American jazz trumpeter and vocalist Benny Bennack III also appears on the album.
Currently on a world tour, Kim has been performing in cities such as Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney in Australia, as well as Ann Arbor, Montague, and New York in the United States.
To celebrate the album's release, Kim will perform at the Kwanglim Arts Center in southern Seoul on Thursday at 5 p.m. She is also scheduled to perform in Daegu on Saturday.
Kim debuted in 2015 with the album "Those Sentimental Things." Her fifth album, "With Strings: Dream of You," released in 2022, won the award for Best Jazz Vocal Album at the Korean Music Awards.
