Global K-pop sensation Blackpink has officially begun filming the music video for their upcoming single, marking their first new music release in nearly three years, YG Entertainment announced Monday.
According to the agency, the quartet started shooting the video on Friday, in collaboration with a renowned international director.
“This music video will be iconic, capturing the full essence of Blackpink’s identity and sound,” YG Entertainment said in a statement.
The upcoming release will be the group’s first new music since Born Pink, their first and only full-length album, which dropped in September 2022.
While the agency has yet to reveal the title, concept, or official release date of the new track, it teased that the project will “demonstrate Blackpink’s stature as a global top-tier act.”
In addition to the new music, Blackpink is gearing up for an expansive world tour, which will include 31 shows in 16 cities. The tour kicks off with two performances in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on July 5 and 6.
