K-pop megastar Jungkook, a member of the boy band BTS, has recently created an Instagram account dedicated to his dog Bam. The account reached over three million followers as of Monday.
Jungkook, 26 years old, announced the launch of the account on the global fan communication platform Weverse. He stated his intention to "brag about his baby," introducing his Doberman, Bam, through the account. Currently, there are seven posts featuring the singer's pet.
The Instagram account, named "bowwow_bam," distinguishes itself from a similar account created later, which reposts the same photos and captions.
Last year, Jungkook surprised fans by deleting his official Instagram account, which had amassed over 52 million followers. He clarified that the decision was not due to hacking but rather his lack of use of the platform.
Fans have shown overwhelming support for Jungkook's new venture, with thousands of comments on each post on Bam's account. Currently, Jungkook is fulfilling his mandatory military service, which is compulsory for all able-bodied South Korean men. He is expected to be discharged on June 11 next year.
All seven members of BTS are currently serving in the military. Jin, the oldest member, initiated his service first and is scheduled to complete it on June 12 of this year.
BTS is renowned as one of the most influential boy bands of this generation, with members enjoying successful solo careers as well. Jungkook's solo track "Standing Next to You" has maintained a position on the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 consecutive weeks, marking the longest streak for a South Korean solo artist since Psy's "Gangnam Style" in 2023.
