Artist Chang-nam Lee's exhibition, 'Still Life of Clan' is held in Seoul.
The artist mainly draws objects in his studio where things he owns or presents from people around him are placed randomly in an orderly manner. The artist captures his sensitivity in the work by expressing the original appearance of the object without artificial transformation or directing.
He also draws on the theme of the scenery viewed through the window. Ordinary objects and landscapes in the studio, which constantly change with the weather and seasons, are reborn as works of art in his hand.
The artist transferred the world of difference and disharmony between space and still life to the canvas and considered true naturalness and beauty.
In the exhibition, the audience can see into the artist's view of art that wants to approach the reality of the object through continuous observation of the object and repeated painting. In addition, the audience can capture the artist's unique coloring techniques that demonstrate the atmosphere of shadows and seasonal changes.
The artist said, "Art is the most personal idea of pursuing universal values.".
The exhibition will be held until December 9 at the Peyto Gallery in Jung-gu, Seoul.
