K-pop Soloist Recognized in Multiple Categories Including Male Artist and Pop Artist of the Year

Jungkook of BTS has achieved a groundbreaking feat by receiving nominations in four categories at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, setting a record for a K-pop soloist.

The nominations were announced on Thursday, revealing Jungkook's presence in the Male Artist of the Year, Pop Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, and Collaboration Song of the Year categories.

The winners for this year will be revealed on Feb. 18 through NBC, E!, and the streaming service Peacock.

Jungkook stands as the sole male nominee in the Pop Artist of the Year category, competing against artists such as Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, Tate McRae, and Taylor Swift.

The K-pop sensation officially debuted as a solo artist with the single “Seven (feat. Latto)” in July 2023. The song achieved global success, topping the Billboard Hot 100, securing the No. 3 spot on the UK’s Official Single Chart Top 100, and amassing over a billion streams on Spotify within 108 days of its release.

Notably, Jungkook previously secured the Collaboration Song of the Year award at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards for his contribution to Charlie Puth's "Left and Right (Feat. Jung Kook of BTS)."
