After 17 years as a professional baker, Vivien Mainguet has made a remarkable career transformation at age 38, becoming a videographer and photographer dedicated to giving small businesses greater visibility. The Loire-Atlantique resident recently launched his own micro-enterprise with the goal of helping local companies improve their digital presence through video content and social media management.
Mainguet's journey from baker to content creator began after nearly two decades in the baking profession, starting in artisanal bakeries before moving to large retail operations. "I had done it all," he explained, describing his feeling of being saturated with the baking trade. At 38, he felt the urge to knead a new professional challenge, leading him to pursue his long-standing interest in visual media.
The Geneston native had always been drawn to photography and videography, even before smartphones became ubiquitous. "Before smartphones, I enjoyed taking photos and videos. I had my little camera with me," Mainguet recalled. His artistic soul also finds expression through music, as he performs as a drummer in a band called the Klowns. His transition into digital content creation was further validated during his last position at a supermarket, where he was responsible for managing social media accounts and Google Business profiles. "I was creating content. I enjoyed it and got good feedback. That confirmed my choice," he said.
In spring of last year, Mainguet established his micro-enterprise, VVFM Prod, named after his three given names: Vivien Vincent Félix Mainguet. His primary objective is to provide visibility to small businesses by offering video and photo content creation, as well as social media management services. He recognizes that many small business owners handle these activities themselves, but often lack time or lose the person who previously managed their digital presence. "The nature of these digital tools is to be constantly present. Visibility remains very important for a business – it's even essential," Mainguet emphasized.
Targeting clients with smaller budgets, Mainguet approaches his work with simplicity and efficiency in mind. "Often, people make a big deal out of communication services. I offer something straightforward, either per project or monthly," he explained. His approach is deliberately discreet, using high-end smartphones equipped with filters, lights, microphones, and compact stabilizers to achieve impeccable quality. Additionally, he operates a drone that provides unique aerial perspectives, which he finds particularly useful for real estate presentations.
Mainguet hopes to serve various sectors including local government, small retail businesses, crafts and trades, associations, and cultural organizations. As he enters this new phase of his career, he's focusing on prospecting for clients. "I have many contacts, and I hope they'll lead to results," the content creator said. True to his baking background, he certainly has his work cut out for him.
VVFM Prod offers videography, photography, drone piloting, and social media management services. The company can be reached through various channels, including phone contact and social media platforms, as Mainguet works to establish his presence in the competitive digital marketing landscape.
