SM Entertainment confirms the return of Taeyong, NCT member, with his upcoming solo album, marking his second venture as a solo musician

Taeyong, a member of the popular boy band NCT, is poised to make his return as a solo artist with the release of his second solo album on February 26, as confirmed by SM Entertainment on Thursday. This follows his debut solo EP, "Shalala," released approximately eight months ago. Notably, Taeyong holds the distinction of being the first member of NCT to launch a solo album, a milestone achieved seven years after the group's debut. 

▲ Courtesy of SM EntertainmentThe success of Taeyong's prior EP is underscored by its achievement in topping the iTunes top albums chart in 31 regions, with the title track securing a position on top songs charts in 14 regions. The artist played a significant role in the creation of the album, contributing to both the lyrics and melodies for all seven tracks. The EP garnered widespread acclaim, resulting in sales exceeding 500,000 copies.

Ahead of the release of his second solo EP, Taeyong is scheduled to host his inaugural solo concerts in Seoul over two nights, adding an exciting dimension to his solo endeavors.

In the interim, Taeyong is set to join NCT 127 for their third international tour, with a performance scheduled in Bangkok this weekend. This multifaceted engagement reflects Taeyong's commitment to both solo projects and collaborative efforts within the broader NCT group.
