In a significant development, FNC Entertainment announced on Monday that Rowoon of SF9 will be parting ways with the group to channel his efforts into his burgeoning acting career. The agency further revealed plans to restructure the group as an eight-member act, affirming that the remaining members have committed to staying with the company to continue their collective musical journey.
Rowoon, a member since SF9's debut in 2016, has grappled with balancing his individual acting pursuits alongside his commitments to the group. While participating in SF9's promotional activities for their 12th EP, "The Piece of Nine," in January, the multi-talented artist has been unable to fully engage in recent group ventures due to scheduling conflicts with his acting endeavors. Regrettably, this means he will not be present for SF9's upcoming fan concert.
Simultaneously pursuing his acting ambitions, Rowoon presently holds a pivotal role as the male lead in the Netflix drama "Destined With You," which premiered last month. Looking ahead, he is set to star in the romantic comedy drama "The Wedding Battle," slated for release in October, showcasing his dedication to furthering his career on the screen.
Rowoon's departure underscores the shifting landscape of the K-pop industry, where members diversify their paths and talents, reflecting the intricate balance between personal aspirations and group commitments.
