Seventeen's 11th EP, "Seventeenth Heaven," has received triple platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan, as announced on Friday. The certification is based on the EP's impressive shipment figures, which reached 750,000 units in the country as of October.
The band has made history this year by becoming the first artist to achieve consecutive "million" certifications for two albums in Japan. Their first EP, "Dream," and the 10th EP, "FML," both earned million certifications. Additionally, Seventeen's best-of album in Japan, titled "Always Yours," has also attained triple platinum status.
On the global stage, "Seventeenth Heaven" made a significant impact by debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 this week, a feat previously accomplished by their tenth EP. This marks the band's sixth entry on the prestigious main albums chart. Notably, Seventeen set a groundbreaking record in K-pop, selling over 5 million units in first-week album sales, further solidifying their international influence.
Looking ahead, the thirteen-member group is set to resume its Japan "dome" tour later this month, with Saitama as one of the scheduled venues.
