Local architectural firm Menard Dworkind designed the space to embody all the classic characteristics of 1950s diners while incorporating a vibrant color palette specifically chosen to combat the winter blues common in Montreal's harsh climate. Guillaume Ménard, partner at MRDK, describes the concept as "reimagined nostalgia" – a welcoming space designed to encourage repeat visits with friends and family.

The restaurant's centerpiece features a series of intimate two-seater booths manufactured by Keca, complete with distinctive chrome rims and mustard yellow-topped laminate tables that perfectly complement the matching banquette seating. The design team carefully selected dark-stained oak wall paneling and installed a soft blue tongue-and-groove ceiling that harmoniously picks up color tones from the dynamic mosaic flooring provided by Daltile.

A steel-topped, wood-paneled bar wraps elegantly around the open kitchen concept and seamlessly transitions into custom-built oak shelving designed for grab-and-go merchandise display. Along the front window, designers positioned a standing bar area featuring retro stools in the signature mustard yellow color scheme, illuminated by vintage-style utilitarian fluorescent tube lighting intentionally selected to evoke memories of traditional butcher shops.

The attention to authentic period details extends to the hand-painted wall signage and menu design, both of which pay homage to classic Italian sandwich bars while incorporating distinctly Canadian elements and local flair. According to Ménard, these carefully curated design elements work together to create a cohesive atmosphere that feels immediately familiar to visitors without being overly referential or gimmicky.
